Golf has been included in the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Indigenous Sport Program since 2001. Over this period, Golf Australia has allocated over $400,000 to Indigenous communities in every state and territory.

Indigenous Golf Advisory Board

In 2006 Golf Australia formally recognised the Australian Indigenous Golf Championships. This recognition supports our current commitment to engage indigenous golfers via our ISP programs. At the 2007 National Indigenous Championships held at Alice Springs Golf Club, an Indigenous Golf Advisory Board (IGAB) was formed. The Indigenous Golf Advisory Board (IGAB) has the charter to:
  • Select the location of and take the lead role in organizing the Australian and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI) Golf championship.
  • Advise Golf Australia on all other matters related to Indigenous golf.
The current members of the Indigenous Golf Advisory Board are:

Chairman – Luke Isaacs (VIC)
Deputy Chair - Dorothy Rodney (WA)
Members:
Malcolm Townley - ACT
Billy Bell - NSW
Matt Majid - Northern Territory
David Collins - Queensland
Eugene Warrior - South Australia
Cameron Wade - Golf Australia
