NSW Golf Association Council Member Dallas Naughton sadly passed away Tuesday 8 May.
Dallas had an extraordinary dedication to golf which was evident from his services to golf administration. Dallas had a long history with golf and as the golfers at Belmont will know he served on their Club board for many, many years. In fact, Dallas was the Club Captain from 1976 to 1982; he was elected as President in 1985 and held that opposition for 5 years. The Club recognised Dallas for his services to the Club in 1988 and conferred him with Life Membership, an honour well and truly deserved.
Dallas also had a distinguished role with the Newcastle District Golf Association. He initially served a year as Vice-President in 1986 and in
1987 was elected as President of the Association, a position he held for another 15 years. In 1994 the NDGA elected him as a Life Member of their Association in recognition of his many years of service and dedication to the Newcastle District.
The story of Dallas's contributions to Golf do not end there. He also represented the District on the Council of The NSW Golf Association.
Dallas was a councilor on the NSW Golf Association for 12 years from 1990 to 2001. He served on many committees including the Handicapping and Course rating, Rules and Junior Golf committees.
Our deepest sympathies go out to family and friends of Dallas Naughton.
