National Squad member Brett Drewitt produced a scorching second round 8-under par 63 to come through US Amateur qualifying at Victory Links Golf Club in Blaine, Minnesota.
The Long Reef Golf Club member opened with a 3-over par 74 and looked like he was out of contention but a sizzling 63 took him back to the top.
"I finally got some putts to drop in the afternoon," Drewitt said.
Drewitt's 36-hole total of 137 lead all qualifiers in sectional qualifying for the 112th U.S. Amateur Championship which will be played at Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado from August 13-19.
