Doon cruise into Semi Finals

Pymble proved too strong at home defeating St. Michael’s 6-1. After last week’s draw away, Pymble  are on top in section 1 with two rounds remaining. Craig Green was the standout winning 7&6.

Avondale, led by Christopher Fan’s 7&5 win, were able to come away with a 3.5-all draw at The Lakes GC. Adam Coull was also a standout winning 6&4 for The Lakes GC.

2017 Champions, The Australian GC, defeated Mona Vale away 5-2. Nicholas Crews was impressive winning 6&5 as was Nicholas Fuller with a 5&4 victory.

Long Reef prevailed over Cabramatta 4-3. Big wins from Cabramatta’s Miklos Nagy 8&7 and Andrew Marsh 7&6 were not enough to snatch the result. Khan Gallagher was Long Reef’s standout winning 6&5.

In what was a close encounter Bonnie Doon defeated Ryde-Parramatta 5-2, making the Doon GC the first team to clinch a semi-final spot in Division 1. After four rounds of the 2018 pennants season, the Pagewood side are four from four with just two rounds remaining.

Pennant Hills prevailed at home against Moore Park in a close contest, 4-3. Six matches went past 17th hole except for Moore Park’s John Betland winning 6&5.

New South Wales GC proved too strong and picked up a vital away win defeating Bankstown 6-1. Justin Kim was impressive winning 6&5 and other standouts were Zinyo Garcia and Zachary Mullins who both won 4&3. The scene is now set for the final two rounds between NSW and Concord, after Concord were able to defeat Macquarie Links away 4-3. Wins from Jason Webb 5&4 and Alan Kelly 6&4 were not enough for the home team. Concord’s youngster Corey Lamb was solid winning 5&3




Cromer defeated Stonecutters Ridge in a tight match 4-3. Led by Anthony Bradley’s winning 4&3, Cromer will now go into the last two rounds against Killara to decide who will progress in section 1 after Killara prevailed away defeating Dunheved 5-2. Andrew Lamble was Killara’s standout winning 7&6, while Dunheved’s standout was Chris McMillan winning 6&4.

In section 2, Bayview were able to snatch a 3.5-3.5 draw against Oatlands. Bayview’s Alexander Peade was solid winning 7&6 and Oatland’s Earl Rees was impressive winning 6&5. Penrith’s Wil Arnold winning 6&5 and Jefferey Gadd winning 7&6 were not enough as North Ryde picked up a nice win away 4-3. Tom Crockart was standout winning 5&3.

Castle hill were strong at home defeating Fox Hills 5-2. Led by Justin Hatchett winning 7&6 and Patrick Idquival winning 6&5, Castle Hill now top their section. Fox Hill’s Jamie Bingham was their standout winning 6&5. Lynwood and Twin Creeks could not be separated for the second week in a row playing out a 3.5-3.5 draw. Twin Creek’s Nicholas Cochrane was impressive winning 7&6 while Aaron Goudan of Lynwood was solid winning 5&4

Liverpool and Cronulla shared the points once again with a 3.5-3.5 draw at Cronulla.  Liverpool’s Blake Daivies was their standout winning 6&5 while Cronulla’s Derryn Weigand was impressive winning 7&5. Monash prevailed against Muirfield defeating them away 4-3. Led by Tommy Pritchard-Davies winning 8&7 and Nathan Barbieri’s 5&4 win, Monash find themselves in a log jam with Liverpool and Cronulla in their section with two rounds remaining.


Cumberland were too strong at home defeating Manly 5-2.  Daniel Auremi was standout winning 5&3 while Manly’s Paul Joseph was the best winning 5&4. Palm Beach was also dominate at home defeating Massey Park 5-2. Palm Beach’s Oliver Hugill was impressive winning 7&6.

Led by Eugenia Morozoff and Sean Moylan both winning 6&5, Carnarvon accounted for Lakeside 6-1. Currently sitting on a perfect 4 from 4, Carnarvon have basically booked themselves a position in semi-finals baring a disaster. Asquith and Woolooware have played out a 3.5-3.5 draw for second week in a row. The standout for Woolooware was Kurt Rugless winning 6&4 while Asquith’s Ian Malcom won 5&4.

Kogarah defeated Antill Park 5.5-1.5. Led by Denis Gallagher winning 5&4 and both Jason Heron & Jason Hodder winning 4&3, Kogarah will now play Camden in last two round to decide the winner of this section. Eastlake prevailed in a tight match at home defeating a gallant Camden 4-3. Six matches going down 17th hole and final two matches finishing on the 18th hole to decide the outcome of this match. Eastlake’s David Galloway the standout winning 5&4.

Glenmore were far too strong accounting for Royal Sydney 6-1. With both teams locked at three points each, only individual matches split them leading into the final two rounds. Glenmore’s Steven Zingle was impressive winning 5&4. In the other match in this section, Wakehurst prevailed against Wallacia 4.5-2.5. Brett Mason winning 7&6 was standout for the home team.


Randwick were dominate at home defeating Bardwell Valley 5.5-1.5. Randwick’s Peter Cox was the standout for the home team winning 4&3 while Bardwell Valley’s Lester Peterson was too good for his opponent winning 6&4. Bexley showed home ground advantage is huge defeated a strong Campbelltown team 5-2.  Peter King winning 6&5 was the standout for Campbelltown.

Warringah had their first loss of the season going down to Marrickville 4-3. Simon Cowan & Scott Martin were impressive winning 5&4 for Warringah but Marrickville’s Drew Cremin sealed the win for the home side winning 6&5.  Strathfield defeated Roseville 5.5-1.5. Big wins from the home team’s Craig Delaney 5&3 and Sean Twomey 6&5 has them in contention with two rounds remaining against Warringah.

In section 3, The Coast were solid at home against Northbridge winning 4.5-2.5. Led by Robert Abeni winning 5&4 and Alman Ogane & Paddy Kelly both winning 4&3, the Maroubra club was never threatened at home. Jay Mackenzie was Northbridge’s best winning 6&5. Leonay prevailed against Richmond 5-2 in a close encounter that had five matches go down the 17th hole. Leonay’s Andrew Moon was impressive winning 8&7.

Beverley Park have capitalized on their away Draw last week by defeating Brighton Lakes 4-3. Elliot Smith was Beverley Park’s Standout winning 6&5 while Brighton Lakes’ Brock Speechley winning 5&3 was their best. Riverside Oaks accounted for Windsor 5-2. Aaron Savic was impressive winning 6&5 for the home team, David Osborne winning 5&3 was Windsor’s best.


Chatswood were too strong defeating Hurstville 5-2. Big wins for Michael Robertson winning 6&5 and James Stephens & James Greathead both winning 5&4 gave the home team its first win for the season.  Springwood were dominate at home defeating George’s River 6-1. Led by David Limbach winning 8&7 and Kyle Honeysett winning 7&6, Springwood lead this section with two rounds remaining.

Barnwell Park defeated Rosnay 4-3. Barnwell Park’s Shane Laws was impressive winning 6&5 and both Paul Marantz & Ray Viola winning 5&4 were the other standouts. Kareela were far too strong for Bondi winning 6.5-0.5. William Knight was the best winning 9&8 closely followed by 7&5 wins from Ben wood & Matthew Hardiman for the home team.

Gordon accounted for Macarthur Grange 6-1 at Gordon GC. Led by Phillip Waddell winning 4&3, Gordon big win has put them in a handy position with two rounds remaining.

St. Michael’s GC has picked up an away win defeating The Australian GC 3.5-1.5. With Stephanie Kyriacou in Coffs playing in Women’s NSW Open, Kelsey Bennett was  very impressive winning 5&4 to keep the Maroubra club on top of their section and only a disaster would not see them through to semi-finals. Bonnie Doon GC prevailed in a close encounter away against Moore Park 3-2.  All five matches were decided onwards of the 17th hole.

New South Wales GC and Concord played out a 2.5-2.5 draw. Returning from playing in the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville & Women’s NSW Open in Coffs Harbour, Doey Choi was solid winning 4&3. While Jessica Widarma of NSW GC was impressive winning 7&6




Cronulla were too strong defeating Penrith 4-1. Ashleigh Arnold was impressive winning 6&4 helping the shire club secure a semi-final spot this season with a Perfect 4 from 4.

In Section 2, Ryde-Parramatta were far too strong accounting for North Ryde 5-0. Cheryl Fairclough winning 9&8 and Celine Chin winning 7&5 were the standouts for the home team. Stonecutters Ridge prevailed in a close encounter to defeat Pymble 3-2. Stonecutters Ridge’s Helen Hayne was impressed winning 5&3 while the four remaining matches were decided on the 18th hole.
