Teams from across the State are descending on Campbelltown Golf Club for this weekend's State Foursomes Championships.

Teams from as far north as Ballina, west from Parkes and ACT in the South will compete for the Mixed, Men’s and Women’s titles over two days of competition.

Several of the teams in the mixed event on Saturday boast low single figure handicaps and the competition for the title should be intense.

The Australian Golf Club’s Thomas Heaton and Stef Hall look like being one of the teams to beat with a combined handicap of 0.8. Other teams likely to contend for the title include Avondale’s Bella Kil and Will Bayliss, Lucy Harris and Tom Gill of Castle Hill, Jan Chrichton and Jay Wooster of Killara, and Darcy Boyd of Toukley who will pair up with Bonnie Don’s Danny Vasquez.

The Men’s and Women’s Championships will be conducted on Sunday.

In the men’s division, the team that has travelled the farthest to compete look like being one of the favourites for the title also. Ballina’s Jay Mackenzie and Kyle Underwood boast a combined handicap of minus one and appear to be a good chance to lift the Trophy. Other teams likely to contend include Timothy Davis and Keith Shepherd of Antill Park, Thomas Duncan and Troy Norris of Macquarie Links, and Royal Canberra’s David Mc Gilvray and Joshua Reid.

NSW State representative Dylan Perry has paired up with Josh Knott of the Vintage, while Campbelltown Locals Glen Evans and Clayton Mancell would be a strong chance around their home course.

The Women’s title could be anyone's, with newly crowned Australian Senior Womens’ Amateur Champion Jacqui Morgan pairing up with her Monash Country Club teammate Alison Gatland. Toukley’s Danny Vasquez and Annika Boyd will be competitive, so too Cabramatta’s Stephanie Solia and Prescila Keogh.
