New Government Relations & Comms Mgr for Golf NSW

Bernard Bratusa WEB

Golf NSW is pleased to welcome Bernard Bratusa as its new Government Relations and Communications Manager. Bernard brings extensive Communications/Media experience to the table, as well as vast knowledge in the area of Government Relations and Grants.

CEO Stuart Fraser said, "Bernard has had many years of experience in politics, local government, and the corporate arena. This experience will be invaluable in assisting member clubs and Golf NSW to obtain government  funding for facility improvement projects and events, through the myriad of grant opportunities that are available. His expertise in these areas will no doubt significantly strengthen our Club Support Service."

Bernard is a golf tragic who took up the sport as a teenager, with his golfing highlights including 18 holes at St Andrews Old Course, his two sons, Tyler and Jordan, being single markers (obviously got their talent from their mother), and a hole in one at ‘Royal’ Wallacia’s 14th hole.

For the past five years Bernard has been employed by Federal and State members, most notably as Media Advisor to the NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation Graham Annesley. Bernard also has local government experience as he is currently a local Councillor.

Bernard is a former Auditor and Communications Manager with the Commonwealth Bank and also spent sixteen years as the Managing Editor of a local Penrith newspaper.

He lives in Glenmore Park with his wife of 35 years Katheryne and their three children Tyler, Tess and Jordan.

Bernard is a member of Wallacia Panthers Golf and Country Club, having previously been both a director and Chairman of the Club, and refutes the suggestion a game of golf spoils a good walk.
