Queen Lydia's special surprise at NSW GC

An intimate crowd enjoyed a special moment with a special person in Sydney this week.

It was only a flying visit to the spectacular New South Wales Golf Club by Lydia Ko, but the ANZ-backed New Zealander gave the bank’s special guests a brilliant insight into her life as one of the world’s elite golfers.

From first picking up a golf club aged five in Wollongong, Ko spoke openly of her record rise to the top of women’s golf – and the people to whom she owes a debt of gratitude for their help in making her the youngest ever world No.1, male or female.

Still just 20, Ko then gave those in the lucky gathering a personal clinic on the driving range before taking to the course and playing the second and famous sixth hole with each group.

But there was no rest for Ko, who had arrived from Auckland and was soon on her way to Seoul for next week’s LPGA Tour event, the first on the Asian swing before flying back to Florida for the season-ending Tour Championship.
