Banks wins Seventh Scone Club Championship

Lynne Banks has won her seventh Ladies Championship at Scone Golf Club, by six shots from Julie Leckie, with rounds of 88,87, and 88.
In division two, Pam Manning finished five ahead of Trish Dunnill, and Annie Woods won division three from Yvonne Palmer. 
All the winners received bouquets of flowers and their respective trophies from club patron Elizabeth Kevans after the final round.


Davis & Starkey Ready for Catholic Schools Champs

Jake Davis and Cooper Starkey are just two of the juniors who are competing at the NSW Polding Catholic Schools Championships at Mudgee Golf Club, which begins today.

The two boys are members of Bathurst Golf Club and have excelled as part of the Club’s Junior Academy, run by professional Matt Barrett.

The Championships are a pathway to the 2017 NSW PSSA Golf Championships which are on September 7 and 8 at Camden Lakes Golf Club.


Finley Pair off to Keno final

Finley Golf Club’s Bob Ross and Marty Piggin have won the right to represent WRDGA at the 2017 NSW Men’s Keno 4-Ball Championships to be held at Bonville Golf Club from October 3 to 6th. The Pair returned a score of +8 on the day to take their prize.


Robb’s in mixed victory at Jamberoo

Glenmore Heritage Golf Club’s Juanita and Andrew Robb, have returned a very credible 80 off the stick to win the 2017 Jamberoo Mixed Open by one shot from Debbie and John Byrnes of Port Kembla GC, with Lorraine and Barry Shoobridge also of Port Kembla finishing third.

This is the third win for the Glenmore couple and their second on the trot, defending their title from last year.

James Swanson has taken out the Morriset Amateur Open with a score of two under par 70. The Shelly Beach Golfer won by 5 five shots from Wyong’s Golf Club’s Ethan Forsyth. Morriset Golf Club’s Professional Dave Stretton was thrilled with the turnout for the event, which saw 180 Starters battle a tough course in perfect conditions.


Women’s Golf Central North hosts Girls Development Camp

Girls from Woolgoolga to Buladelah have converged on Port Macquarie over the weekend for a development camp, developing their skills under the watchful eyes of professionals Brendan Barnes and James Single.

Junior Co-Ordinator Catherine Robinson said the camp created a fun environment.

“All the girls have an opportunity to progress to a level they are comfortable with,” she said.
