Senior says it's good to be home

It feels nice to be home, according to Peter Senior.

The evergreen Queenslander returned in June and is happy to be playing in front of Australian fans.

“I’m getting to that stage where I want to do other thing. I still enjoy playing, but it’s been great sitting at home doing things I want to do -- I should’ve done it earlier,” he laughed.

Senior is playing in the NSW Open for the first time in many years and is looking forward to playing Stonecutters Ridge.

“I’ve heard the course is pretty good,” he smiled.

“I couldn’t remember the last time I played the NSW Open, it was a while ago; I played one in the early 90s I think."

Despite not having played much tournament golf in the last few months, Senior feels his game is coming along nicely after recent surgery.

“I came home because of injury. I had my elbows operated on a couple of months ago.

“They’re coming good now, and I’m playing a bit better.  I played the Killara and Roseville pro-ams to get a hit out, and the game is pretty good.

“I always come here to win regardless. Where I tee it up and what I tee it up in you’ve got to believe you’ve got a chance of winning.

“If I can get the putter going, I’m a fair chance."

Disappointingly for Australian golf fans, Senior hinted that this year might well be his last on tour.

“This could well by last summer on the main tour. I’m getting to that stage I want to do other things. I still enjoy playing golf, I just don’t like being away,” he said.
