Golf NSW State team representatives Travis Smyth and Harrison Endycott have made positive starts to their U.S campaigns at The Players Amateur at Berkeley Hall Golf Club in South Carolina.

Smyth is sitting in a tie for 4th at 6-under par after rounds of 70, 72 and 68, while Endycott is a shot behind in outright 6th position after rounds of 72,68, and 71.

Smyth’s third round was his best of the tournament thus far, picking up four birdies and no bogeys to keep his card blemish free.

Endycott could have been far higher up the leader board than he currently sits however a triple-bogey eight on the Par-5 12th hole soured an otherwise good day on the course for the 20-year-old.

Of the other Australians in the field, Anthony Quayle sits in  a tie for 7th, while David Micheluzzi, Louis Dobbelaar, and Cameron John are tied in 10th position.

Brett Coletta, Austin Bautista, Zach Murray, and Troy Moses all failed to make the cut.
