St Michael's and Australian show their intent

St. Michael's Golf Club have left no doubt about their intentions in the 2017 Metropolitan Major Pennant after a six matches to one thumping of defending title holders, Bonnie Doon.

St Michael's pair Travis Smyth and John Lyras dominated their opponents James Grierson and Mitch Gannon with 6&4 and 9&8 wins respectively.

In the other pool match, Mona Vale accounted for Macquarie Links 6 1/2 to 1/2 in a one-sided affair with Mona Vale's Alexander Munro leading the way with a 7&5 win.

Concord got a nice win away against Pennant Hills, with a tight four matches to 3 result. Concord's Jackson Hall led the way with a 5&4 win over the Hills' Gabriel Ormaechia.

Liverpool Golf Club reversed last week's loss with a close four matches to 3 win against Pymble at home. With four games reaching the 18th green, it was the results of Jamie Clark, Guy Nardo, Riley Carter and Teina Hotene that proved the difference.

In Pool three, The Australian Golf Club dominated Ryde-Parramatta with 7 matches to nil thumping at home. Nick Crews, Zach Mullins and Isaac Noah all recorded impressive 6&4 wins, while Blake Windred took care of former State Representative Brenden Ellam 6&5 in a one-sided affair. In the other pool match, Daniel Gale and Jordan Garner recorded 4&2 and 4&3 results in Castle HIll's four matches to 3 win against Bankstown.

Avondale reversed last week's loss to Long Reef with 6 matches to 1 win, with big results coming from Matthew Wittenberg and Harrison Endycott, who had easy wins, 7&6 and 6&4 respectively.

Moore Park made it two from two with a win at New South Wales GC. Oliver Reece had the best result of the day, winning 6&4 for the City Club.

Division Two

Twin Creeks managed to reverse last week's away loss to Stonecutter Ridge with a hard -fought 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 win at Stonecutters. Paul Todd the pick for Twin Creeks with a 3&2 win.

In Pool 2, Cromer continued on their winning way with 6 matches to 1 defeat of Muirfield, with Anthony Bradley the best for Cromer with a 7&6 win.

Fox Hills had a tight 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 win against Cabramatta with Joel Wheatley dominating his opponent 8&6.

Monash took care of Lynwood 6 matches to 1 in pool three, with Tommy Pritchard -Davies the standout for the Northern Club, while Killara reversed last week's loss to Bayview with a 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 win at home. Benjamin FInfer was the pick of the Killara wins, with a 6&5 victory.

In Pool 4, Cronulla whitewashed Antill Park 7 matches to nil, with Nicholas Heath the best from Cronulla with a 5&4 win, while in the remaining match, Oatlands accounted for the Lakes 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 in a tight affair at Oatlands. The Standout for the home club was Tim Frazer with a 5&4 win.

Division Three

New Brighton and Manly played out a 3 1/2 all draw at New Brighton. Mandy's Tyson Holmes posted a big 6&5 win over Glenn Langby. Carnarvon Golf Club made it two wins in a row with five matches to 2 win over Kogarah at home. The Pick of the results for the Inner West team was Andrew Wallace with a 6&5 win.

In Pool 2, Lakeside defeated Wakehurst 4/3, and Cumberland beat Wallacia 5 1/2 to 1 1/2.

Penrith beat Richmond 7 matches to nil, with Penrith's Blade Gadd winning 5&3. In the other pool match, Camden Defeated Massey Park 4 matches to 3 with Michael Bell leading the way for Camden with a 5&4 win.

Dunheved made it a perfect start to the season with a 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 win over Eastlake. Craig Williams for Dunheved posting an excellent 4&3 win along the way.

Woolooware also kept their perfect start to the year, with a 5 1/2 to 1 1/2 win over Glenmore Heritage. Tim Norris was the best for the Shire-based club, winning 7&6.

Division Four

Palm Beach defeated Roseville 4 matches to 3, while Leona defeated Riverside Oaks 5 games to 2.

Northbridge Defeated Rosnay 6 to 1, while Campbelltown grabbed a win away from home against Beverley Park, 4 1/2 to 2 1/2.

Cammeray and Bardwell Valley played out a tight 3 1/2 all draw, while Asquith defeated Marrickville 4 1/2 to 2 1/2.

The Coast and Warringah finished all square while Windsor defeated Bexley 5 1/2 to 1 1/2.

Division 5.

In Divison five, Gordon, Strathfield, Chatswood, Barnwell Park, and George's River all won.
