NSW Club Grants

Hundreds of local sports clubs and sports organisations across the State are set to benefit from more than $10 million worth of grants announced today by NSW Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres, with a focus this year on encouraging more female athletes into sport programs.

Women’s sport is the fastest growing area of many codes and the opportunity exists for all NSW Golf Clubs to apply for NSW Government grants of up to $20,000 under the Local Sport Grant Program.

There are four project types within the Program:

1. Sport Development
2. Community Sport Events
3. Sport Access
4. Facility Development.

·       Applicants will be required to identify the type of project for which they are applying as different information is required for each project type.

·       An organisation may apply for more than one project but must register separate projects for different project types.

·       An organisation may apply only for one project under each project type.

The Local Sport Grant Program will close 6 October 2017.

Local communities across the state are set to benefit from changes to the NSW Government’s Infrastructure Grants, Minister for Racing Paul Toole said today.

Mr Toole said the NSW Government was making it easier to apply for Infrastructure Grants, with substantial funding available each year for sport and recreation projects.

“The NSW Government is giving more communities the opportunity to access the funding more often,” Mr Toole said.

“The new guidelines will mean the NSW Government can fund a wider range of projects. A simpler application process will cut red tape and allow for faster assessment.”

Instead of one round of funding a year with grants of up to $1 million, there will now be four rounds.

Grants will be between $100,000 to $300,000 for sport and recreation.

Priority consideration is given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, regional and remote communities, disadvantaged communities, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Mr Toole encouraged local community organisations to learn more about the changes to the program and consider applying for grants, with the first of four yearly funding rounds opening on August 1 this year.

“This is a great opportunity for Golf Clubs across NSW to apply for much-needed funding to help in the delivery of vital infrastructure,” Stuart Fraser, CEO of Golf NSW said.

“I would urge all golf clubs affiliated with Golf NSW to reach out to their local members of parliament to discuss funding opportunities.”
